Member Support Program

Purpose
Tag League exists to deliver safe, enjoyable community sport. While we work hard to reduce risk, sport involves inherent risks. Common injuries can include ankle/knee sprains and fractures; in rare cases, serious injury can occur. By participating, players acknowledge these risks.

Insurance & Personal Cover
We strongly recommend all participants review their personal circumstances and consider Private Health Insurance and Income Protection/Loss of Earnings insurance to supplement Medicare.

Eligibility (all must apply)

  • The injury occurred during an official Tag League fixture, or sanctioned event.
  • The applicant is a current, registered player and appeared on the official team sheet at the time.
  • The injury was report at the time of injury and an injury report was made.
  • The applicant has first utilised Medicare and any Private Health Insurance entitlements.

Examples of expenses that may be considered: gap payments for essential medical treatment, imaging, medically required braces/supports, travel to medical appointments where no reasonable alternative exists.
Generally not covered: elective or non-essential treatments (e.g., routine massage/physio for minor sprains), premium equipment upgrades, non-medical costs unrelated to the injury.

 

Application Process

  1. Notify us as soon as practicable and log the injury via the venue/GDM and incident report.
  2. Email a brief summary of your situation to care@tagleague.com.au with:
    • Full name, team, venue, date of injury
    • Description of injury and treatment plan
    • Evidence of registration/eligibility (team sheet), incident report, and receipts/quotes
    • Details of Medicare/insurer assessments (if applicable)
  3. We may request additional documentation to confirm eligibility.
  4. Documentation will be issued in accordance to the claims process.

All personal and health information is handled confidentially and only shared with those involved in assessing and administering the application or as required by law.
